ZINC SUPPORTS HEALTHY

IMMUNE FUNCTION

LIDTKE now offers Zinc as Bisglycinate Chelate from Albion Minerals, an advanced, more bioavailable and patented form of this essential mineral.

But is your Zinc reaching its intended target?

Poorly chelated versions of this important element may never reach your bloodstream, and may cause gastric upset. LIDTKE Zinc is chelated to produce small, organic molecules that pass easily through the digestive tract and are gentler on the digestive system.

Unfortunately, the body is not efficient at producing chelated minerals. So LIDTKE has partnered with Albion, who developed an exclusive technology that mimics the body’s natural chelation process, producing readily absorbable organic chelated minerals in supplement form.

For maxium bioavailability, LIDTKE chelates our supplement with the amino acid Glycine. This amino acid not only assists the mineral in passing through your intestinal barrier, but plays a crucial role in your immune system as well.

Glycine signals macrophage cells, your body’s waste collectors, to ingest and destroy invading pathogens, and clear away dead or dying cells.

An essential mineral required by the body, with a cofactor in more than 300 enzymes, Zinc has a profound role in numerous functions including DNA integrity, cell growth, hormone production, and the immune system.[1,2,3]

A 2013 study review found that 75 mg per day can help the immune system in its capacity to “inhibit viral replication” and it also “shortens the average duration” of immune-related issues. [4]

How do you know if you are Zinc deficient?

It is very difficult to diagnose a deficiency from symptoms because the symptoms are pervasive and ubiquitous.[2] Due to it’s role in so many metabolic processes, deficiency can cause many seemingly unrelated problems.

Clues people often look for are irritability, lethargy, thinning hair, and recurrent infections,[3] a result of hormone imbalance and weakened immunity. Zinc deficiency is most common among vegetarians,[5] and not thought to be a common problem in industrial societies due to the availability of meat

Studies have revealed that dietary phytates, such as in grains and rice, have a strong negative effect on zinc absorption.[6] Unfortunately, vegetarians are often still advised to eat these foods for their high content in this trace element, not realizing it is hardly absorbed

Deficient or not, supplementing with zinc is established to be extremely safe, and results are usually evident within a few days. Similar to vitamin C, it is water soluble and does not have good storage ability. The entire body only contains 1-2 grams of zinc.[3] And so, similar to Vitamin C supplements, it is very important to include this mineral regularly in your diet.
